Since cranes are temporary structures occasionally they are mounted to vehicles in order to be moved easily. It is time saving since it can be mounted and dismounted easily. Truck-mounted cranes can pass through on highways so there is no need for extra equipment to transport the crane to the job area.
When the crane is already put up at the job site, the outriggers are extended vertically and horizontally from the stand or base of a truck to level and steady the crane during lifting.
